Primary Sources lend authenticity to social studies and connect the student with the personal experiences of others. This allows students to experience the "human" of "social" aspects of "Social Studies". These sources may connect with a student's own experiences in their families and communities, thereby engaging students and lending relevancy to what they are exploring. Through this exploration students are engaged in critical thinking by analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating sources that are authentic and immediate.
